A Northern Glaze

Above the snow-capped mountains, all was still

Except for the dancing aurora lights;

Green glazed upon the sapphire night skies,

They brightened up the dark, the perfect sight;

Like curtains they arched across the heavens;

Shimmering and shining in the clear night.

To chance upon this opportunity;

As if jewels glittering in a chest;

As if treasure passed down from long ago;

As if finding lost fortune on a quest;

I gazed at these remarkable riches,

I gazed into the night, far away west.
